        "content": "<p>REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, BANDUNG \u2013 Coordinating Minister for Human\nDevelopment and Culture (PMK) Pratikno, Tourism Minister Widianti Putri\nWardhana, and West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi have initiated the\nrevitalisation of vocational education and organised vocational training\nin West Java.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinating Minister PMK Pratikno stated that his office has\nintegrated the central government, local governments, and Job Training\nCentres (BLK) with the industrial world as employers. The aim is for\nvocational education and training to produce graduates suited to labour\nmarket needs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not let our education teach skills that are no longer relevant.\nThis revitalisation, besides preparing those suited to needs, can also\ncreate new job opportunities,\u201d he explained at Bale Pakuan on Wednesday\n(22\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Vocational education must prepare workers who are not merely job\nseekers but also capable of creating new opportunities, both in the\ntechnology sector and those based on culture and local potential.<\/p>\n<p>West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi added that currently, educated\nunemployment is higher than among those with low education, which is\nquite ironic.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, West Java has everything, but not many people are willing to\npursue the available opportunities. For example, makers of bamboo mat\nweaving. Weavers are now rarely found, while demand is high. So actually, the job market can\nbe built in the space of innovation, including vocational training\ndeveloped to suit local wisdom,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, job opportunities are wide open, both domestically\nand abroad, as long as vocational education can meet field needs.<\/p>\n<p>Tourism Minister Widianti Putri Wardhana stated that the Ministry of\nTourism and the National Professional Certification Agency have compiled\n438 vocational education schemes from 34 tourism fields.<\/p>\n<p>The compilation of these vocational schemes serves as a strategic\nfoundation to ensure that every profession in the tourism sector has\nclear and nationally recognised competency standards. \u201cWest Java is one\nof the provinces that will implement vocational education in the tourism\nfield,\u201d she emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>Several regional heads and representatives of the Indonesian Chamber\nof Commerce and Industry (KADIN) from districts and cities in West Java\nwere present at the event.<\/p>",
