JAKARTA \u2014 Membership of the National Health Insurance (JKN) programme\nhas provided Vivera, 62, with protection when she has needed medical\ncare. As a JKN member, she has used a range of health services, from\nroutine check-ups to emergency treatment.<\/p>\n
Vivera has been registered as a Class 2 JKN member since around 2014.\nShe said that when she first joined, her contributions were paid by the\ncompany she worked for. After she stopped working, she continued her\nmembership independently and paid the contributions regularly.<\/p>\n
One of Vivera\u2019s experiences using JKN came in 2024, when an accident\nleft her with a fractured wrist. As she needed immediate treatment, she\nwas taken straight to hospital without first visiting a Primary\nHealthcare Facility (FKTP).<\/p>\n
At the hospital, Vivera was examined and received medical treatment.\nShe then had to undergo surgery to treat the fracture.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was very quick. As soon as I arrived, they examined me and did\neverything. At my age, the treatment needed to be quick. There were\nseveral steps, but it was fast,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
The experience was one of the moments that stood out to Vivera during\nher use of JKN. She said her membership provided protection when she\nunexpectedly needed medical care.<\/p>\n
It also made her more aware of the importance of keeping her\nmembership active so she could use it whenever healthcare was\nneeded.<\/p>\n
Vivera uses JKN not only when she is ill, but also to maintain her\nhealth through the Chronic Disease Management Programme (Prolanis) at\nher FKTP. Through the programme, she receives monthly routine check-ups\nto monitor her health.<\/p>\n
\u201cI take part in BPJS\u2019s Prolanis at the FKTP. It is very useful\nbecause we are examined regularly every month,\u201d Vivera said.<\/p>\n
Alongside regularly using JKN services through Prolanis, Vivera keeps\nher membership active by paying her contributions on time. She believes\nlooking after one\u2019s health means not only seeking care when symptoms\narise, but also having routine check-ups and preparing for unpredictable\nhealthcare needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to be healthy, so I need JKN to look after my health. I have\nto stay healthy, especially as I get older,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
For Vivera, paying JKN contributions is not merely an obligation but\na conscious way of preparing for health protection. She hopes her JKN\nmembership will continue to benefit her and her family.<\/p>\n
