        "content": "<p>Visitor complain about pollution<\/p>\n<p>BOGOR: Visitors to the Bogor Botanical Gardens have complained<br>\nabout the pollution from vehicles that enter the compound.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;It is no longer comfortable. It is unlike in the past, when<br>\nit was tranquil and we could breathe fresh air. But we need to<br>\nresearch it first,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Gardens finance manager Amas said that since 1987, each car<br>\nhad to pay an Rp 10,000 entrance fee.<\/p>\n<p>Amas said the botanical gardens would soon provide three<br>\npollution-free vehicles called Marlip, designed by the Indonesian<br>\nInstitute of Sciences (LIPI). It will take visitors around the<br>\ngardens for Rp 10,000 per person.<\/p>\n<p>Separately, head of the Environment Research Center of the<br>\nBogor Institute of Agriculture, Soeryo Adi Wibowo, said vehicular<br>\nemissions had damaged the aesthetics of the botanical gardens but<br>\nwas not asked about the impact of the pollution on the plants.<br>\n--JP<\/p>",
