        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 PT PLN (Persero) is presenting a special power\nupgrade promotion for members of the public visiting the Gaikindo\nIndonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. Through this promotion,\ncustomers have the opportunity to increase their electricity capacity up\nto 7,700 VA at a 50 percent discount to support the need for charging\nelectric vehicles (EV) at home. The promotion is valid until 9 August\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>To obtain the promotion, customers simply need to visit the PLN booth\nin Hall 8 during GIIAS 2026, check in via the PLN Mobile application,\nand then claim the available power upgrade e-voucher.<\/p>\n<p>PLN\u2019s participation in GIIAS 2026 is part of the company\u2019s support\nfor the development of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.\nThrough strengthening charging infrastructure, integrated digital\nservices, and collaboration with various stakeholders, PLN continues to\nsupport the acceleration of EV adoption to drive the national energy\ntransition.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita stated that EV sales\nin the first half of 2026 reached 117,000 units, growing 69.4 percent\ncompared to the same period the previous year. \u201cOne in every four\npassenger cars purchased by the Indonesian public is now electrified.\nFive years ago, this figure was practically non-existent,\u201d said\nAgus.<\/p>\n<p>Agus added that 16 EV assembly companies are now supported by 332\ndomestic component suppliers, predominantly small and medium-sized\nindustries. This number has grown by 127 percent since the low-carbon\nemission vehicle programme was launched and has absorbed around 195,000\ndirect workers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe domestic component level (TKDN) for electric vehicles in our\nrecords currently averages between 40 and 46 percent. There is even a\nbrand that has been certified with a TKDN of up to 80 percent,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that the growth of\nelectric vehicles must be accompanied by the development of a more\nreliable ecosystem to make it easier for the public to switch to\nlow-emission mobility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPLN continues to support the development of the electric vehicle\necosystem through the provision of charging infrastructure and various\nservice conveniences for customers. Through close collaboration with the\ngovernment, industry, and all stakeholders, we are optimistic that EV\nadoption will continue to increase, providing benefits to the community,\nstrengthening national energy security, and accelerating the energy\ntransition,\u201d said Darmawan.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to presenting the power upgrade promotion, PLN also\ncontinues to make things easier for customers through its Home Charging\nServices (HCS), which allow for the easy, practical, and comfortable\ninstallation of home charging facilities.<\/p>\n<p>PLN Director of Retail and Commerce, M. Fahrur Rozy, said that as of\nthe first half of 2026, the number of installed HCS units had reached\n92,058. This achievement reflects the growing public confidence in the\nEV ecosystem, supported by the ease of home charging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHome charging is one of the representations of PLN\u2019s commitment to\nmaking it easier for customers to adopt electric vehicles. This\ncommitment is also a manifestation of PLN\u2019s support for reducing carbon\nemissions,\u201d he emphasised.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing home charging convenience, PLN also\ncontinues to strengthen public charging infrastructure through\ncollaboration with various partners in the construction of Public\nElectric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) and Public Electric Vehicle\nBattery Swap Stations (SPBKLU) across various regions in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>As of the first half of 2026, the number of operational SPKLU units\nhas reached 5,016, with 619 two-wheeler SPKLU units and 1,133 SPBKLU\nunits.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis infrastructure strengthening is an important foundation in\ncreating an EV ecosystem that is increasingly reliable, easily\naccessible, and capable of supporting the growth of electric vehicles in\nIndonesia,\u201d concluded Rozy.<\/p>",
