Visa Card adventure<\/p>\n
On Sunday, March 8, my husband and I experienced one of the
\nmost bizarre telephone conversations with the Visa Approval
\nService in Jakarta. Following our decision to purchase some
\nfurniture from a furniture shop in South Jakarta, my husband
\npresented the shop with his Visa Gold \"preferred customer\" Card.
\nThe store, not being electronically linked to approval service,
\ncalled the Visa Approval Service.<\/p>\n
After several minutes on the phone, the storekeeper returned
\nto us requesting my husband's passport number. Figuring that this
\nmay have had something to do with the monetary crisis and bad
\ndebts etc., my husband gave his passport number under the
\nassumption the transaction would now be completed. However,
\nanother few minutes passed without a resolution.<\/p>\n
Mr. Audi of the Visa Approval Service asked whether my husband
\nwas a tourist or working here in Jakarta, our home phone number
\nand address and proceeded to inform me that the transaction would
\ntake approximately two months to process.<\/p>\n
Finally, we were able to connect to another Visa operator who,
\nin less than 60 seconds, gave approval on the transaction -- as
\nwe had expected during our first call.<\/p>\n
I would love to receive an explanation from Visa on the above
\noccurrence.<\/p>\n
