        "content": "<p>A zakat distribution worth 50,000 rupiah on Agus Salim Street in\nGresik City was marred by disorder. The disturbance occurred after\nhundreds of residents feared missing out on money being distributed by a\nsarong entrepreneur, following the incident going viral on social\nmedia.<\/p>\n<p>According to detikJatim, the money distribution took place on Friday\n13 March 2026 at approximately 08:00 WIB. Initially, residents queued\norderly to receive the money from the organisers.<\/p>\n<p>Several organisers were also on hand to ensure that residents who had\nalready received money did not rejoin the queue. However, approaching\n09:00 WIB, the situation became tense following shouts and altercations\nfrom outside the queue.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the shouting, residents who had initially been orderly\nbecame involved in a disturbance that escalated into mutual violence\namongst several youths. In the incident, a woman at the location became\na victim after being struck and suffering facial bruising.<\/p>\n<p>The disorder prompted organisers to temporarily halt the zakat\ndistribution process. It is suspected that the chaos was triggered by a\nyouth attempting to jump the queue to collect the zakat for a second\ntime. However, this youth\u2019s actions were caught by another queuing\nresident.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, there was indeed chaos yesterday, there was fighting,\u201d said\nHanif, one of the residents, on Saturday 14 March 2026. \u201cI\u2019m not\nentirely sure, but it seemed like there was a youth trying to jump the\nqueue to get the money again and was caught by other residents waiting\nin line.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hanif added that the zakat distribution is indeed an annual event\nheld every last Friday of Ramadan. However, he participated in the zakat\ndistribution queue for the first time this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI only joined yesterday because I haven\u2019t been working this year.\nIt\u2019s quite helpful, so I queued from the morning. But the first time I\njoined, there was chaos,\u201d he added.<\/p>",
