VIPs join golf tournament at Palm Hill<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Alatas and his
\ncounterpart from the Philippines Domingo Siazon, were among the
\nVIP golfers taking part in the Second Environment Health & Safety
\nGolf Cup tournament held recently at the Palm Hill Country Club
\nnear Bogor.<\/p>\n
The annual event to commemorate World Environment Day, June 5,
\nwas held by the state-owned oil company Pertamina. The tournament
\nwas inaugurated last year, officials from Pertamina, the office
\nof the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Department of Mines and
\nEnergy and the Environmental Impact Management Board taking part.<\/p>\n
Prominent figures in the fray for the one-day event this year
\nincluded senior diplomat Nana Sutresna, the Philippines'
\nAmbassador to Indonesia, Abaquin Eusibio and ASEAN Secretary-
\nGeneral Dato Ajit Singh.<\/p>\n
\"The tournament was held as part of our efforts to conserve
\nthe environment and to see that the national safety and health
\ncampaign, particularly at Pertamina, is better implemented
\nthrough greater awareness,\" a tournament committee official said
\non Saturday. The campaign was launched in 1992 by F. Abda'oe, the
\npresident of Pertamina.<\/p>\n
As expected, two Pertamina officials, Harianto and Samto
\nUtomo, came out the top winners in the tournament. Harianto won
\nthe best net title to take the EHS Cup, while Samto won the
\nsecond best net overall title in the competition held on Monday,
\nJune 5.<\/p>\n
Third best net title went to Leonard Tobing. Hasjim Djalal
\nfrom the foreign ministry won the fourth best net title. (rsl)<\/p>",
