        "content": "<p>Villagers protest steam power project<\/p>\n<p>JEPARA, Central Java: Hundreds of people in Tubanan village<br>\nhave protested the damage to their property by the transportation<br>\nof building materials to Tanjungjati B steam power plant.<\/p>\n<p>The villagers rallied in the street and erected roadblocks,<br>\nstopping access to the project site.<\/p>\n<p>The villagers, who staged a similar protest Tuesday, claimed<br>\nthe heavy vehicles seriously damaged roads in their neighborhood<br>\nand cracked their brick walls.<\/p>\n<p>\"The trucks have caused extensive damage to the roads and<br>\ncitizens' property since the project began on Nov. 19 last year,\"<br>\nsaid village chief Kasmin.<\/p>\n<p>The residents have demanded compensation from contractor PT<br>\nCopa Indonesia for the damage.<\/p>\n<p>Kasmin said the citizens would not stop protesting until their<br>\ndemand was met.
