        "content": "<p>Vietnam risk guaranteed<\/p>\n<p>HANOI (Reuter): The Multinational Investment Guarantee Agency<br>\n(MIGA), a World Bank agency, has issued its first guarantee<br>\ncontract for Vietnam to Citibank, the U.S. bank said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The MIGA guarantee of US$13.5 million covers 90 percent of<br>\nCitibank's $15 million investment against risks of civil<br>\ndisturbance, war, transfer restriction and expropriation, it said<br>\nin a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Since Vietnam joined MIGA in October 1994, the World Bank<br>\nagency has received more than 30 applications for coverage of<br>\npotential foreign investment in Vietnam totaling hundreds of<br>\nmillions of dollars, Citibank added.<\/p>\n<p>MIGA seeks to encourage foreign investment in developing<br>\ncountries by providing political risk insurance.<\/p>",
