        "content": "<p>Global geopolitical uncertainty is a major challenge for the\nIndonesian government\u2019s efforts to strengthen energy security towards\nthe target of national energy self-sufficiency, according to the Deputy\nSpeaker of the MPR RI, Eddy Soeparno.<\/p>\n<p>Global instability makes the importation of crude oil, fuel, and LPG\nfor Indonesia increasingly challenging. Therefore, in an effort to\nmaintain energy security, the government must undertake measures to meet\ndomestic needs by increasing oil and gas exploration, including the\nMasela Block, increasing refinery capacity, and developing the energy\ntransition to reduce dependence on fossil fuels.<\/p>\n<p>The MPR RI views that Indonesia\u2019s energy transition progress is\ncontinuously developing but still requires strong commitment to\naccelerate transitions ranging from solar power plants (PLTS) to\nbiodiesel development. The MPR continues to support the strengthening of\nregulations and legal certainty for energy transition investments as\npart of the effort to accelerate Indonesia\u2019s oil, gas, and renewable\nenergy projects, one of which is through the Renewable Energy Law (UU\nEBT) which is ready to be enacted.<\/p>",
