Fikri Ibrahim, a six-year-old student\nat the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat (SRT) 4 Sumedang, was screened during\nthe 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration at the Nagara Janottama Field,\nBrimob Korbrimob Polri, in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, on Wednesday, 1\nJuly 2026. The event was themed \u201880 Years of Service, Police for the\nPeople\u2019. Fikri\u2019s story touched many hearts; unlike other children his\nage who spend their time playing, he was forced to scavenge for used\nbottles to sell in order to survive. A video of him searching for items\non the streets had previously gone viral. Since enrolling in Sekolah\nRakyat, Fikri\u2019s life has changed dramatically\u2014he now wears a clean\nuniform instead of shabby, dirty clothes, enjoys regular and nutritious\nmeals, and benefits from a much better environment through the guidance\nof teachers and education staff. He is one of many children who have\nfelt the benefits of the Sekolah Rakyat programme, an initiative of\nPresident Prabowo Subianto, serving as tangible proof that many children\nfrom poor families need access to education, and that education can be a\npathway to breaking the intergenerational cycle of poverty. President\nPrabowo Subianto, who attended the event, stated that poverty remains a\nsignificant challenge within Indonesian society. \u2018Our people are still\nsuffering from poverty, and this poverty is a direct result of\ncorruption, smuggling, and illegal economic activities,\u2019 he said,\naccompanied by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and National Police\nChief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. The President stressed that the law\nmust be enforced against such deviations without discrimination, and\nthat the law must be respected and valued as a protector of society.\n\u2018There must be no abuse of authority, and no one is above the law.
