Iftitah Sulaiman\nSuryanagara, has emphasised the importance of driving the economy within\ntransmigration areas to serve as sources of regional economic growth and\nas a step towards improving the welfare of transmigration\ncommunities.<\/p>\n<p>A number of transmigration areas possess significant economic\npotential, ranging from agriculture and tourism to mining and the oil\nand gas sectors. Therefore, through the national transmigration\ntransformation, the government is not merely relocating populations but\nis also addressing land issues, developing supporting infrastructure,\nand deploying thousands of high-quality human resources to support local\neconomies.<\/p>\n<p>To address budget efficiency challenges, the Ministry of\nTransmigration is collaborating with relevant Ministries and Agencies to\ndevelop transmigration areas across the agricultural, oil and gas,\nmining, and tourism sectors. Furthermore, the Ministry is inviting\ninvestors to explore and develop the economic potential of promising\nregions, such as Raja Ampat in West Papua and Labuan Bajo in East Nusa\nTenggara.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Transmigration also continues to ensure that the\ndevelopment of transmigration areas can contribute to Indonesia\u2019s\neconomic growth towards the 8% target.
