        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia \u2014 The first half of 2026 has been a\nchallenging business period for the Indonesian stock exchange. According\nto Jeffrey Hendrik, Chief Executive Officer of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia\n(IDX), several headwinds have overshadowed the Indonesian stock market,\nranging from the turmoil of the Middle East conflict, the market\nassessment by MSCI \u2014 the global index and market data provider \u2014 to\ncredit ratings agencies, including S&amp;P.<\/p>\n<p>Amid these challenges, Jeffrey Hendrik said the Indonesian stock\nexchange has also recorded a number of achievements, including ongoing\nmarket deepening, continued demand growth with the number of investors\nrising by 40%, and transaction value growing by more than 30%.<\/p>\n<p>In responding to the challenges and concerns raised by MSCI-FTSE, the\nIDX has implemented four initiatives related to improving share\ntransparency, including issuing minimum free float requirements that\nmust be met by listed companies and the introduction of the High\nShareholding Concentration (HSC) rule.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the IDX has encouraged market participants and\ninvestors to make use of the capital market as a source of financing,\nboth through share issuance and through bond issuance.<\/p>\n<p>For more, watch the dialogue between Maria Katarina and the Chief\nExecutive Officer of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX), Jeffrey Hendrik, on\nPower Lunch, CNBC Indonesia (Tuesday, 28\/07\/2026).<\/p>",
