        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2014 PT Indonesia Digital Identity (VIDA), a company providing\ndigital identity services and fraud prevention, unveiled an exhibition\ntitled \u2018Faces of Fraud\u2019 to raise public knowledge and awareness of\nincreasingly sophisticated fraud methods.<\/p>\n<p>Founder and Group CEO Niki Luhur said that through the initiative,\nfive victims of digital fraud shared their stories in the hope that\ntheir experiences would not be repeated for more people.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Through this movement, we want to open the public\u2019s eyes to the fact\nthat the impact of digital fraud is not limited to financial losses; it\nalso leaves emotional wounds, erodes the sense of security, and leaves a\nlasting imprint on daily life,\u2019 Luhur said in a press release received\nin Jakarta on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>One victim is a retiree who lost all their savings due to a modus\noperandi that diverted funds to crypto assets in a short period.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a victim whose personal data was used for illegal\nonline loans without consent, resulting in prolonged psychological\ndistress.<\/p>\n<p>Luhur said the whitepaper released by VIDA, titled \u2018SEA Digital\nIdentity Fraud Outlook\u2019, reveals that modern fraud schemes are becoming\nmore organised, combining multiple attack methods into a single,\ncarefully planned sequence.<\/p>\n<p>He emphasised that if public awareness remains low and the ecosystem\ndoes not move collectively, the number of victims will continue to\ngrow.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We do not want the number of victims to keep rising. Faces of Fraud\nis our way of saying that we all have a role in breaking the chain,\u2019 he\nadded.<\/p>",
