Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka inspected the construction of\nthe Waste-to-Energy Plant (PSEL) on Jalan Keramasan, Kertapati District,\nPalembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday, issuing a number of directives\nthat must be given focused attention during its development.<\/p>\n
\u201cAlhamdulillah, today Vice President Gibran inspected the PSEL\nconstruction, which will process waste in Palembang City into electrical\nenergy,\u201d said Palembang Mayor Ratu Dewa in Palembang on Thursday.<\/p>\n
Ratu Dewa conveyed several key points of instruction given by Vice\nPresident Gibran for the plant\u2019s construction.<\/p>\n
According to the Vice President\u2019s directives, he said, the current\nmain focus is on the regulatory transition and the project\u2019s\nsocio-economic impact on the local community.<\/p>\n
He explained that one important aspect emphasised is the shift of the\nlegal basis from Presidential Regulation Number 35 of 2018 to\nPresidential Regulation Number 109 of 2025.<\/p>\n
The change concerns adjustments in financing, institutional\narrangements, and the overall acceleration of physical construction.<\/p>\n
\u201cSeveral things stressed by the Vice President concern, first,\neverything related to the transition from Perpres 35\/2018 to Perpres\n109\/2025 \u2014 whether in terms of financing, institutions, including the\nacceleration of physical construction,\u201d said Ratu Dewa.<\/p>\n
To ensure this transition runs smoothly, the Palembang City\nGovernment will continue to maintain sustained, intensive coordination\nwith the relevant ministries, agencies and Danantara.<\/p>\n
Beyond regulatory matters, Ratu Dewa added, the Vice President also\nhighlighted the importance of the project\u2019s impact on the welfare of\nlocal residents.<\/p>\n
The Vice President requested that education, the absorption of local\nworkers, and the empowerment of micro, small and medium enterprises\n(UMKM) be primary considerations in the project\u2019s implementation.<\/p>\n
Regarding supporting infrastructure, Ratu Dewa said he had spoken\ndirectly with South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru to prioritise\nimprovements to connecting roads.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs for the connecting roads, I have just spoken with the Governor.\nThis will be a priority for the provincial government to repair the\nroads leading to the facilities here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that the physical construction of the PSEL facility has\nshown positive results, reaching 91 per cent, with a completion target\nbefore the end of 2026.<\/p>\n
PT Indo Green Power manager Satriawan Ming expressed appreciation for\nthe very solid synergy between the central and regional governments.<\/p>\n
His company is committed to accelerating construction of the PSEL\nfacility so that its economic and environmental benefits can soon be\nfelt by the people of Palembang.<\/p>\n
