Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran\nRakabuming Raka emphasised the importance of the World Mosque Youth\u2019s\nrole in maintaining national unity, especially among the younger\ngeneration of the homeland.<\/p>\n
\u201cVice President advised the World Mosque Youth to continue working\nfor the interests of the Indonesian ummah and to remain a unifying force\nfor the younger generation in society,\u201d said President of the World\nMosque Youth Said Aldi Al Idrus in a statement received in Jakarta on\nWednesday.<\/p>\n
This was conveyed by Gibran during a courtesy visit from the World\nMosque Youth board at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday\n(12\/5).<\/p>\n
On that occasion, the Vice President also appreciated the World\nMosque Youth\u2019s contributions in cleaning hundreds of thousands of places\nof worship, not just mosques, as one of the efforts to maintain harmony\namong people of different religions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe World Mosque Youth coordinates the cleaning of houses of\nworship, mosques, temples, shrines, churches throughout Indonesia, and\nthe Vice President greatly appreciates it because there is a mosque\nyouth group cleaning other houses of worship,\u201d said Said.<\/p>\n
Said, who also serves as General Chairman of the Malay World Islamic\nWorld (DMDI) Indonesia, revealed that the World Mosque Youth\u2019s vision\naligns with President Prabowo Subianto\u2019s Astacita vision, which focuses\non strengthening superior, high-quality, and competitive Indonesian\nhuman resources towards Golden Indonesia 2045.<\/p>\n
To support this vision, the World Mosque Youth has also initiated the\nInternational Musabaqah Tilawatil Qur\u2019an (MTQ) event.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis event has been held ahead of the Hajj season for the last 11\nyears, rotating in several countries such as Malaysia, Singapore,\nCambodia, Thailand. Notably, this year the international MTQ will be\nheld in Indonesia for the first time, competing for the Vice President\u2019s\nCup,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Said continued, \u201cAnd we will do this every year, ahead of the\npilgrims to Arafah, we recite the Qur\u2019an at Istiqlal, so that there is\nblessing and prayer for Hajj pilgrims around the world preparing for\nwuquf. Now we start in Indonesia competing for the Vice President\u2019s\nrotating cup.\u201d<\/p>\n
Said also hoped that Vice President Gibran would graciously attend to\nofficially open the series of events.<\/p>\n
For information, the World Mosque Youth is a Muslim youth and mosque\nyouth organisation spread across 31 countries.<\/p>\n
Under the guidance of Bahlil Lahadalia as Chairman of the Board of\nTrustees, this organisation is active in various humanitarian missions,\nfrom cleaning hundreds of thousands of houses of worship to distributing\nhumanitarian aid to disaster and conflict areas in Rohingya and\nPalestine.<\/p>\n
