Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 Vice President Gibran Rakabuming accompanied\nPresident Prabowo Subianto in the 19th Plenary Meeting of the Indonesian\nDPR RI for the Fifth Session of the 2025-2026 Year, held at the\nNusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
According to a statement from the Vice President\u2019s Secretariat\nreceived in Jakarta on Wednesday, Vice President Gibran accompanied the\nPresident of the Republic of Indonesia to deliver an introductory speech\non the Macroeconomic Framework and Core Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) as part\nof the preparation of the State Budget Draft (RAPBN) for the 2027 Fiscal\nYear.<\/p>\n
In his address, the Head of State outlined the direction of the\ngovernment\u2019s economic and fiscal policy that will form the basis for the\ninitial discussions of RAPBN 2027.<\/p>\n
The delivery also coincided with the anniversary of National\nAwakening Day, emphasising the importance of unity and optimism in\nstrengthening the national economy.<\/p>\n
The President stated that the APBN is not merely a state financial\ninstrument, but a tool of the nation\u2019s struggle to protect the people,\nto reinforce the foundations of the national economy, and to realise the\nwelfare of society as mandated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic\nof Indonesia.<\/p>\n
\u2018APBN is the embodiment of our tool of struggle as a nation. APBN is\na tool to protect the people. A tool to strengthen the foundations and\npillars of the nation\u2019s economy. A tool to ensure every citizen can live\nmore prosperously, and as a guide for our journey ahead. With that\nawareness, we draft the APBN as a form of collective commitment to\nrealise the noble ideals mandated in our Constitution, the 1945\nConstitution,\u2019 Prabowo said.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the President stressed the importance of the direct\npresence of the Head of State in conveying the direction of national\neconomic policy and the management of state finances. This is deemed\nessential to provide a comprehensive picture of the government\u2019s\nstrategic steps in facing various dynamics and global challenges that\nalso affect the national situation today.<\/p>\n
\u2018Therefore, given the conditions we face like this, I believe the\nPresident of the Republic of Indonesia should be present to directly\nconvey the essentials of thoughts on the economy and state management,\u2019\nhe explained.<\/p>\n
The President also emphasised the government\u2019s commitment to\nmaintaining the continuity of national development through targeted,\neffective fiscal policy aimed at achieving development goals, including\nstrengthening food security, improving the quality of education and\nhealth services, and empowering the community\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n
