PT Piaggio Indonesia has decided to maintain prices on its 2026 Vespa Primavera and Sprint models despite significant engine upgrades from 150cc to 180cc and additional features such as full LCD digital displays and keyless entry. The decision reflects a strategic short-term approach to support consumer demand amid challenging market conditions, though management acknowledges this price freeze cannot be sustained indefinitely due to rising production costs.

PT Piaggio Indonesia has decided not to change the prices of the 2026
Vespa Primavera and Vespa Sprint models, despite both receiving engine
and feature upgrades. The decision was taken amid challenging market
conditions.

Managing Director and Country CEO of PT Piaggio Indonesia Marco Noto
La Diega said the decision was made with careful consideration. The
company wants consumers to be able to enjoy the latest products without
being burdened by price increases.

“The price has not changed. We want our consumers to be happy and to
enjoy this new motorcycle without worry. Indeed, the timing is quite
difficult for everyone, and the economy is facing some challenges,”
Marco said during the launch event on Monday, 16 March 2026.

“We came to Indonesia because we believe in the market. We see the
overall motorcycle market facing some difficulty. I believe the price
increases in 2025 were smaller compared to 2024,” he added.

Marco further stated that the decision represents a short-term
strategic step. Piaggio wants its new products to be widely accepted by
consumers.

However, this price-retention policy will not last indefinitely.
Piaggio acknowledges ongoing pressure from rising production costs.

“This will not last long. We cannot absorb these additional costs
indefinitely. But right now we want to provide more value at the same
price,” Marco said.

For reference, the Vespa Primavera comprises two models: the standard
version at IDR 55 million and the Primavera S at IDR 57.5 million. The
Sprint comes in three variants: the standard at IDR 58.5 million, the
Sprint S at IDR 61 million, and the Sprint Tech at IDR 66 million.

The most significant changes to both models include the engine
displacement increasing from 150cc to 180cc. Additionally, new features
include a full LCD digital dashboard, keyless entry for the Primavera S,
Sprint S, and Sprint Tech models, as well as redesigned wheel rims and
various other styling enhancements.
",
