The trial regarding corruption related to export financing from the\nIndonesia Export Financing Institution (LPEI) between 2014 and 2015,\ninvolving the owner of PT Sakti Mait Jaya Langit and PT Mega Alam\nSejahtera, Hendarto, is approaching its final stage. The presiding judge\nis scheduled to read the verdict for Hendarto on 22 June.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe session is adjourned; the next session will be held on Monday,\n22 June 2026, at 14:00 WIB. The agenda is the delivery of the verdict,\u201d\nstated the chairman of the panel of judges, Brelly Yuniar Dien Wardi\nHaskori, at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Wednesday\n(3\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
During today\u2019s session, Hendarto presented his personal defence, or\nplea. He requested to be acquitted of the charges and the prosecution\u2019s\ndemands. \u201cWith all humility, I knock on the conscience of the Honourable\nPanel of Judges to deliver the fairest possible verdict for me, namely a\nverdict that acquits me of all charges or, at the very least, releases\nme from legal prosecution,\u201d said Hendermarto.<\/p>\n
Hendarto disclosed that he is experiencing heart health issues and\nrequires ongoing medical treatment. Following the presentation of the\nplea, the prosecutors delivered their rejoinder, followed by the\nrebuttal from Hendarto\u2019s legal team. \u201cI request that the sentence be as\nfair and light as possible, considering my advanced age and the fact\nthat I suffer from heart complications and have had three stents\nimplanted, necessitating continuous medical care,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Previously, Hendarto was sentenced to an 8-year prison term by\nprosecutors. The prosecution believes Hendarto is guilty of corruption\nrelated to export financing from LPEI during the 2014-2015 period.\n\u201c(Demanding the Panel of Judges) impose a prison sentence of 8 years on\nthe defendant, Hendarto,\u201d the prosecutor stated during the reading of\nthe indictment at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday\n(12\/5).<\/p>\n
The prosecution also demanded that Hendarto pay a fine of IDR 500\nmillion, or alternatively, 140 days of imprisonment. Furthermore, the\nprosecution sought restitution of IDR 1.6 trillion and USD 14.95\nmillion, or alternatively, 6 years of imprisonment. The prosecution\nnoted that the restitution amount accounts for evidence already seized\nby the state and funds previously paid by Hendarto, totalling IDR 3.77\nbillion.<\/p>\n
Aggravating factors in the prosecution\u2019s argument include the\nassessment that Hendarto\u2019s actions failed to support government\nprogrammes for eradicating corruption and enhancing national exports.\nAdditionally, his actions were deemed to have damaged public trust in\nLPEI.
