Venture capital firm for C. Java<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Minister of Finance Mar'ie Muhammad inaugurated
\na venture capital company, PT Sarana Jateng Ventura, on Saturday
\nin the Central Java capital of Semarang.<\/p>\n
The company was established with a paid-up capital of Rp 4.5
\nbillion (US$2.05 million).<\/p>\n
A commissioner of the company, Panoet Harsono, said to Antara
\nat the inauguration ceremony the firm has been established by 19
\nindividuals and companies, including Central Java Governor
\nSoewardi, businessmen Prajogo Pangestu, Henry Pribadi, Johannes
\nKotjo and Sutrisno Bakir, as well as Lippo Bank, PT Djarum Kudus,
\nBPD Jateng, PT Coca Cola and PT Bahari Ventura, the largest
\nshareholder providing an equity of Rp 1 billion.<\/p>\n
Bahari Ventura is a subsidiary of state-owned venture capital
\ncompany PT Bahana Artha Ventura.<\/p>\n
Panoet said Sarana Jateng Ventura has been designed with an
\nauthorized capital of Rp 15 billion.<\/p>\n
The government has encouraged private companies to support the
\nestablishment of venture capital companies in each of the
\ncountry's 27 provinces. Such firms have now been set up in Medan
\nof North Sumatra, Bandung of West Java, Yogyakarta, Surabaya of
\nEast Java.<\/p>\n
Minister Mar'ie said a venture capital company will also start
\noperating in Ujungpandang of South Sulawesi next month.<\/p>\n
He said President Soeharto has participated in the
\nestablishment of such a firm in Yogyakarta by providing an equity
\nof Rp 10 million.<\/p>\n
At Saturday's ceremony, Mar'ie also inaugurated PT Mitratani
\nDua Tujuh, an export-oriented soybean company which accrued its
\nfirst financial assistance from Sarana Jateng Ventura.<\/p>\n
Mitratani Dua Tujuh has been established jointly by Bahana
\nArtha Ventura and PT Mitratani Terpadu.(riz)<\/p>",
