        "content": "<p>Vendors want to be allowed to return<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Evicted sidewalk vendors in Glodok, West Jakarta,<br>\nhave asked the city administration to let them return to their<br>\noriginal location.<\/p>\n<p>The vendors were at the site on Wednesday to collect their<br>\nmerchandise after the administration dismantled their kiosks on<br>\nthe first day of Idul Fitri on Nov. 3.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the vendors, who have been doing business in the area<br>\nsince 1980s, said they had a valid permit to establish a kiosk in<br>\nthe city&apos;s busiest commercial area.<\/p>\n<p>However, the West Jakarta administration has insisted on<br>\nconverting the area into a city park and asked the vendors to<br>\nmove to either inside Glodok market and Jembatan Lima area in<br>\nWest Jakarta or to Pluit market in North Jakarta and Petojo Hilir<br>\nin Central Jakarta. -- JP<\/p>",
