Kiasnawi, Pasar Anyer, in a raid last Saturday staged a rally<br>\nat the mayor's office on Monday morning to demand they be allowed<br>\nto trade along the street.<\/p>\n<p>\"If we continue to trade along the street, we would be in<br>\nviolation of the rules. We just want to earn money to feed our<br>\nfamilies,\" said Rizal who led the vendors.<\/p>\n<p>He said if clashes between public order officers and vendors<br>\nbroke out, vendors would not be to blame because they only wanted<br>\nto earn a living.<\/p>\n<p>If the administration were to allow vendors to operate along<br>\nthe street, he said, all vendors would be willing to abide by the<br>\nrules and uphold public order.<\/p>\n<p>Municipal public order agency chief M. Akip and Sabar<br>\nSitumorang, who led the raid against vendors last Saturday, met<br>\n15 of the 200 vendors.<\/p>\n<p>However, no agreement was reached between vendors and the<br>\nadministration because Akip insisted that the vendors to move to<br>\nanother location that had been provided for them. --JP<\/p>",
