        "content": "<p>Vendor jailed for extortion<\/p>\n<p>A 22-year-old vendor was sentenced to eight months in jail on<br>\nMonday after he was found guilty of pointing a knife at a couple<br>\nvisiting the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>The Central Jakarta district court handed down the verdict<br>\nthat Hardiana, alias Nanang, was guilty of extorting money from<br>\nthe couple at knife-point last June.<\/p>\n<p>Nanang failed to get anything from the couple because Subekan,<br>\nhis intended victim, suddenly grabbed his hand and knocked him<br>\ndown.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier, the prosecutor had asked the court to sentence<br>\nHardiana to 10 months because his action scared away other people<br>\nfrom visiting the Monas park.
