Despite the shining\nsuccess of DIY\u2019s racers, motorcycle racing training facilities, such as\npractice circuits, are notably absent in the region. Wesley Heince\nParera Tauntu, Head of Achievement Development at KONI DIY, stated that\naccording to information his party has received, land for the\nconstruction of a circuit has been prepared. The circuit is planned to\nbe built in the Ratu Boko area, Prambanan, Sleman Regency. \u201cThe\ninformation we received is that a location has already been prepared. If\nI\u2019m not mistaken, it is in the Ratu Boko area, around Prambanan,\u201d Wesley\ntold journalists on Wednesday. Wesley explained that this information\nwas obtained when KONI DIY attended a meeting and Syawalan gathering\nwith the Regional Board of the Indonesian Motor Association (IMI) DIY\nsome time ago. The meeting addressed plans for the development of\nmotorcycle racing facilities in DIY. According to him, the location in\nthe eastern part of Sleman is projected to become a training facility as\nwell as a development centre for young DIY racers. \u201cHopefully this can\nbe realised quickly,\u201d he said. KONI DIY hopes that the construction of\nthe permanent circuit will receive support from various parties,\nespecially the Regional Government of DIY. The presence of a circuit is\nconsidered increasingly urgent given the rising achievements of racers\nfrom Jogja at both national and international levels. \u201cThe hope is\nindeed for support from all parties to realise a permanent circuit for\nour racing friends in DIY,\u201d he asserted. Meanwhile, KONI DIY continues\nto monitor the progress of motorcycle racing athletes projected to\ncompete in the XXII PON in NTT-NTB.
