        "content": "<p>Young racer from Gunungkidul, Veda Ega Pratama, has successfully\nbroken into the world racing scene. However, the Special Region of\nYogyakarta (DIY) still does not have a permanent circuit to support\nrider development. Responding to this, Ahmad Fajar, Acting Managing\nDirector of InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), said his\nparty currently has no plans to build a circuit in Jogja. \u201cFor now, we\nhave no plans in that direction. We are utilising the assets within the\nInJourney Group, for example in the airport area. If there is an\nassignment from InJourney or the government, it can certainly be\nconsidered. But at the moment, there are no plans to build in other\nareas,\u201d Fajar said when met at the Keraton Jogja complex on Sunday\n(19\/7\/2026). According to Fajar, proposals for circuit construction in\nregions, including DIY, fall under the authority of local governments.\nITDC would only become involved if it received an official assignment to\ndevelop the area. \u201cBut we leave that to the provincial or local\ngovernment. So we have no plans to build in other areas, unless there is\nan assignment from InJourney or ITDC,\u201d he stressed. He also touched on\nthe construction of the Mandalika Circuit, explaining that it was part\nof the development of the Mandalika tourism area in West Nusa Tenggara\n(NTB). \u201cThe circuit was built there, at ITDC, because we own the\n1,200-hectare Mandalika area. Why is there a circuit there? Because we\nwanted to develop the region,\u201d he explained. Fajar noted that before its\ndevelopment, NTB was one of the regions with high poverty rates. The\npresence of the Mandalika Circuit and MotoGP, he said, has elevated the\nregion\u2019s profile while strengthening Indonesia\u2019s branding on the global\nstage. \u201cIn the past, when Indonesians went abroad and were asked where\nthey were from, people only knew Bali. Now many recognise Mandalika\nbecause of MotoGP. It has become part of Indonesia\u2019s branding as well,\u201d\nhe explained. Fajar said ITDC continues to support Veda Ega\u2019s career.\nAfter meeting Sri Sultan HB X, Veda is scheduled to train at the\nMandalika Circuit before returning to Europe to continue racing.\n\u201cStarting tomorrow, they will depart from Jogja to train at the\nMandalika Circuit, then return to England, continue to Spain, and in\nOctober they will race again at Mandalika,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
