        "content": "<p>Vast paddy fields inundated<\/p>\n<p>BARABAI, South Kalimantan: Floods triggered by incessant heavy<br>\nrains have been inundating thousands of hectares of paddy fields<br>\nin Hulusungai district, about 165 kilometers north of here.<\/p>\n<p>The flooding disrupted land transportation between South and<br>\nEast Kalimantan over the weekend because the highway connecting<br>\nthe two provinces was inundated up to one-meter deep in some<br>\nplaces.<\/p>\n<p>The flooding began receding yesterday and traffic returned to<br>\nnormal, although some hamlets in the districts were still facing<br>\nhigh water levels, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>Chief of the Pandawan subdistrict Fuddin Nafarin said that a<br>\nvast area of paddy fields had been inundated over three days and<br>\nthat there was little hope for a harvest this season.
