\nThis Western tradition, which has been adopted by Eastern
\nnations, has been transformed into a lucrative market.<\/p>\n
There is no ban on celebrating Valentine's Day in Indonesia,
\nand celebrating this day which commemorates love is natural.<\/p>\n
Businessmen with sharp eyes can anticipate the demands within
\nthe market, especially the demands for souvenirs from young
\npeople.<\/p>\n
Some people have cheerfully marked Valentine's Day, with
\nextravagant foods, and the presence of guests resplendent in
\nbeautiful dresses.<\/p>\n
The merriment effectively ignored other parts of the city,
\nwhere flood victims shivered in temporary shelters, badly in need
\nof foods and clothing.<\/p>\n
This contrast has aroused our sensitivity.<\/p>\n
Of course we do not want to disturb people's right to enjoy

We only wish to remind Jakarta citizens that their neighbors
