        "content": "<p>The Denpasar Immigration Detention House (Rudenim) deported two\nIndian nationals, initials R (24) and HD (34), on Thursday (2\/4\/2026),\nafter they were found to have violated immigration provisions in\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of Rudenim Denpasar, Teguh Mentalyadi, explained that R had\npreviously entered Indonesia via Ngurah Rai International Airport on 31\nAugust 2025 using an Indian passport and the Visa on Arrival (VoA)\nfacility for tourism purposes.<\/p>\n<p>However, on 11 September 2025, while attempting to continue his\njourney to Europe, officers became suspicious of identity discrepancies\nafter R used a Mexican passport. Forensic immigration laboratory\nexaminations confirmed the document was fake.<\/p>\n<p>R\u2019s true identity was subsequently verified by the Indian Consulate\nGeneral, while the Mexican Embassy stated the passport was invalid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe document was detected as a forged and manipulated one,\u201d said\nTeguh.<\/p>\n<p>R was then charged under Article 119 paragraph (2) of Law No.\u00a06 of\n2011 on Immigration and served a five-month prison sentence at Kerobokan\nClass IIA Penitentiary. He was declared fully released on 9 March 2026\nbefore being handed over to Rudenim Denpasar for deportation\nproceedings.<\/p>\n<p>Expired Residence Permit, Overstay of 74 Days<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, HD was known to have entered Indonesia on 10 March 2020\nfor investment purposes and had established a restaurant business in\nBali. However, the business closed in 2024, and HD no longer had steady\nemployment.<\/p>\n<p>Based on examinations, HD\u2019s limited stay permit (ITAS) had expired\nsince 24 December 2025. His passport had also expired since 12 February\n2025, while his emergency travel document expired on 28 January\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>Until reporting to the Immigration Office, HD had been recorded as\noverstaying for 74 days.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the violators have fulfilled their legal obligations, our duty\nis to ensure they are promptly removed from Indonesian territory,\u201d Teguh\nemphasised.<\/p>\n<p>The deportation process for R and HD was carried out via Ngurah Rai\nInternational Airport under strict escort to Indira Gandhi International\nAirport, India.<\/p>\n<p>Immigration authorities also opened the possibility of imposing\nre-entry bans on the two. Referring to Article 102 of Law No.\u00a06 of 2011,\nbans can be applied for up to 10 years or even for life, depending on\nthe severity of the violation and considerations by the Directorate\nGeneral of Immigration.<\/p>",
