U.S. women politicians in Bali<\/p>\n
DENPASAR: Four prominent U.S. women politicians will share
\ntheir experiences with Balinese academics, government officials,
\ncouncillors and activists during a meeting here on Friday to
\ndiscuss decentralization.<\/p>\n
Among the U.S. participants at the meeting, which will be
\nhosted by the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya, will be Jane
\nNorton, who is Colorado's 46th Lieutenant Governor.<\/p>\n
The discussion is to focus on issues related to the management
\nof local budgets in the decentralization era.<\/p>\n
The four U.S. politicians had visited Jakarta from Aug. 19
\nthrough Aug. 23 to join the American Council Young Political
\nLeader conference.<\/p>\n
During the conference, they met with other women politicians
\nfrom Indonesia, Australia, the Philippines and Malaysia to talk
\nabout women and democracy.<\/p>\n
They also met with members of the Women's Caucus in the House
\nof Representatives in Jakarta and discussed women's issues in
