        "content": "<p>Washington (ANTARA) - The United States Navy has imposed a blockade\non Iran\u2019s coastline and ports, not on the Strait of Hormuz, said General\nDan Caine, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI must emphasise. This blockade applies to all ships, regardless of\nnationality, heading to or from Iranian ports. This US action\nconstitutes a blockade of Iranian ports and coastline, not a blockade of\nthe Strait of Hormuz,\u201d Caine stated during a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>The general said the measure would extend to the territorial waters\nof the Islamic Republic of Iran as well as international waters in other\nareas of responsibility, such as the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnder Admiral Paparo\u2019s command, we will actively pursue any\nIranian-flagged vessel or any ship attempting to provide material\nsupport to Iran. This includes dark fleet vessels transporting Iranian\noil,\u201d Caine added.<\/p>\n<p>On 28 February, the US and Israel launched strikes against targets in\nIran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties.
