        "content": "<p>Washington - Several United States (US) allies are now beginning to\nparticipate in efforts to resolve the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz,\nbut Washington hopes for greater support, said US Ambassador to the\nNorth Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), Matthew Whitaker, on\nWednesday (25\/3).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have allies who are finally starting to move \u2026 There are key\nallies contributing and providing various support. We just want more,\u201d\nWhitaker told Fox Business broadcaster.<\/p>\n<p>He also said that the US is working intensively on diplomatic\nchannels to persuade partners in Europe and the Middle East to get\ninvolved.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, it takes effort to convince them that this issue is\nmore important to them than to the United States,\u201d said Whitaker.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the current critical developments in the Strait of\nHormuz also affect global oil prices.<\/p>\n<p>On 14 March, US President Donald Trump called on China, France,\nJapan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and other countries to send\nwarships to the Strait of Hormuz to maintain shipping security.
