The tariffs take into account a number of\ntrade barriers.<\/p>\n<p>Through its Department of Commerce, the US has raised several\nobjections to Indonesia\u2019s trade practices. These objections were\nconveyed in the 2025 National Trade Estimate Report on Foreign Trade\nBarriers of the President of the United States on the Trade Agreements\nProgram.<\/p>\n<p>In the report, the US raised a number of concerns regarding\ncumbersome and multi-layered import licensing requirements as well as\nhalal certification.<\/p>\n<p>In response to this situation, on 7 April 2025, Indonesia\u2019s\nCoordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs announced the Progress of\nCross-Ministry\/Agency Coordination on Foreign Trade Barrier Issues\nraised by the USTR \u2014 an initial step to detail Indonesia\u2019s position and\nresponse.
