        "content": "<p>U.S. Navy ships await wargames<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Three U.S. Navy warships and a tanker moored at<br>\nTanjung Priok harbor yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>The USS George Philip, USS Mahlon S Tisarle (frigate), USS<br>\nGerman Town (landing ship tank) and the USS Yubon (tanker ship)<br>\nare in North Jakarta in preparation for war games with the<br>\nIndonesian Navy.<\/p>\n<p>The Naval Base II office at Tanjung Priok announced that the<br>\nships, with 1,100 personnel, are here for the Indonesian Navy&apos;s<br>\nIndosa 96 exercises, Antara reported.<\/p>\n<p>The exercises have been underway since May 15 and will last<br>\nuntil May 30.<\/p>\n<p>During the war games with the U.S. ships, the Indonesian Navy<br>\nwill deploy its warships KRI Ki Hajar Dewantara, KRI Fatahilah,<br>\nKRI Malahayati and KRI Achmad Yani.<\/p>\n<p>The war games will take place in several places throughout the<br>\narchipelago, including the Java and Bali Seas, the South China<br>\nSea, at Tanjungpinang in Sumatra and in Jakarta Bay.<\/p>\n<p>Commodore Porreal, who commands the U.S. Navy ships, is<br>\nscheduled to pay courtesy calls on several local officials,<br>\nincluding North Jakarta Mayor Suprawito.
