        "content": "<p>U.S-Malaysia plane overhaul<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): U.S aviation firm Hamilton Standard signed<br>\na deal yesterday with Malaysia Airlines (MAS) to set up a<br>\nfacility to overhaul aircraft life support systems for the Asia-<br>\nPacific.<\/p>\n<p>Hamilton Standard, a division of Connecticut-based United<br>\nTechnologies Corp., will hold 51 percent of the joint venture<br>\nfirm, Hamilton Standard Co. Support Centre Sdn. Bhd., capitalized<br>\nat five million dollars. Malaysia's listed national airline will<br>\nhold 49 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The facility, which will service equipment associated with<br>\naircraft cabin pressurization and temperature control systems, is<br>\nscheduled to be operational by mid-1995, said MAS managing<br>\ndirector Kamaruddin Ahmad.<\/p>\n<p>\"A significant feature of the facility will be the compressed<br>\nair plant which will be able to simulate the pneumatic<br>\nperformance characteristics for aircraft such as Boeing's 747-400<br>\nand 777,\" Kamaruddin said.<\/p>",
