Trump said\nWashington and Tehran have conducted \u201cproductive conversations\u201d over the\npast two days towards a \u201ccomplete and total resolution\u201d of hostilities\nin the Middle East. Trump emphasised that he has instructed the Pentagon\nto \u201csuspend all military attacks on Iran\u2019s power plants and energy\ninfrastructure for five days, conditional on the success of the ongoing\nmeeting\u201d. \u201cThe US and Iranian sides will continue to talk throughout the\nweek,\u201d AFP quoted Trump again on Tuesday (24\/3\/2026). Trump\u2019s statement\nis surprising. Previously, Trump had threatened to attack Iran\u2019s power\nplants if they did not reopen the Strait of Hormuz shipping route, on\nTuesday night.
