        "content": "<p>Washington (ANTARA) - The United States government on Wednesday\n(February 25) imposed sanctions on more than 30 individuals, entities,\nand vessels that facilitate Iran\u2019s \u201cillegal\u201d oil sales and support the\nproduction of ballistic missiles and advanced conventional weapons\n(ACW).<\/p>\n<p>Announced by the US Department of the Treasury\u2019s Office of Foreign\nAssets Control in a statement, the sanctions target 12 vessels along\nwith their respective owners and operators.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, the sanctions also target several\nnetworks that enable Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the\nMinistry of Defence and Logistics of the Iranian Armed Forces to acquire\nthe raw materials and sensitive equipment needed to restore their\nballistic missile and ACW production capacity and to distribute unmanned\naerial vehicles to third countries.<\/p>\n<p>In 2025, the US government imposed sanctions on more than 875\nindividuals, vessels, and aircraft as part of Washington\u2019s \u201cmaximum\npressure\u201d campaign against Iran.<\/p>\n<p>US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday (February 24) that he would\nnever allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, while accusing the country\nof developing missiles that could reach the US in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>A new round of talks between the US and Iran is scheduled to take\nplace on Thursday (February 26) in Geneva and is expected to focus on\nIran\u2019s nuclear program, including the level of uranium enrichment and\nthe lifting of sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>Many analysts say that the upcoming round of talks between the US and\nIran could mark the last diplomatic opportunity before a possible joint\nmilitary operation by the US and Israel against Iran.<\/p>",
