Both nations accused one another of\nviolating the ceasefire agreement, and President Donald Trump even\nannounced that the ceasefire had ended.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by leading US media outlet CNN, citing several\nWashington officials, as carried by Anadolu Agency and TRT World on\nFriday (10\/7\/2026), the US deliberately launched its attacks and then\npaused them temporarily to avoid further escalation.<\/p>\n<p>The halt to the attacks, according to US official sources cited by\nCNN, was also intended to give diplomacy room to work.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, the US official sources added, Washington continues to\nhold a list of attack targets as a bargaining chip with Tehran.<\/p>\n<p>Several US officials were reported as saying that preparations were\nunder way for a potential new US attack, if required that night.\nHowever, according to those officials, Washington\u2019s leadership is\ncurrently prioritising the diplomatic route.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Friday (10\/7), aboard the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham\nLincoln in the Arabian Sea, flight crews were reported to have armed\nfighter jets with weaponry, whilst pilots underwent training in\npreparation for possible new strike missions.<\/p>\n<p>The carrier\u2019s commander was reported to have informed the thousands\nof sailors on board about rising tensions in the region, stressing the\nimportance of remaining vigilant, in accordance with standard\nprocedures.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside preparations for a potential attack, US fighter jet pilots\ncontinued routine defensive operations, launching operational flights\nboth during the day and at night.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, US officials stated that Iranian claims of additional\nUS attacks during the night were inaccurate.
