        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - The United States is exploring opportunities for\ncooperation in the maritime sector with Indonesia through a Trade\nMission on Security and Maritime Technology visiting Jakarta and\nSurabaya from 27 to 29 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The mission, facilitated by the Trade Section of the US Embassy in\nJakarta, is the first trade visit specifically focused on the maritime\nsector in Indonesia, while also reflecting the strengthening partnership\nbetween the two countries in the fields of maritime infrastructure and\ntechnology.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pleased to bring together leading US companies in maritime\ntechnology and security with partners in Indonesia to advance shared\npriorities,\u201d said Charg\u00e9 d\u2019Affaires ad interim of the US Embassy in\nJakarta, Peter M. Haymond, in a press release from the US Embassy in\nJakarta on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>During the visit, the US delegation held meetings with several\nstakeholders in Jakarta, including the Ministry of Transportation,\nMinistry of Defence, Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and\nRegional Development, Danantara Indonesia, and the Indonesian Navy (TNI\nAngkatan Laut).<\/p>\n<p>The agenda also included business explorations with local companies,\na visit to Tanjung Priok Port, and a networking reception bringing\ntogether government, maritime associations, state-owned enterprises\n(BUMNs), and the private sector.<\/p>\n<p>In Surabaya, the delegation attended a briefing session at the US\nConsulate General, visited Tanjung Perak Port, and discussed matters\nwith leaders of the Indonesian Navy.<\/p>\n<p>Haymond emphasised that the United States will continue to commit to\ndelivering innovative and high-quality solutions and partnering with\nIndonesia to support a secure, resilient, and future-oriented maritime\nsector.<\/p>\n<p>The US delegation consists of several maritime technology companies\nexploring collaboration opportunities to support Indonesia\u2019s maritime\neconomic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia was selected as the next destination following the trade\nmission in Singapore as part of Singapore Maritime Week.<\/p>",
