        "content": "<p>U.S. Bank backs RI mine<\/p>\n<p>WASHINGTON (Reuter): The Export-Import Bank of the United<br>\nStates said it will provide US$425 million to back U.S. exporters<br>\nof goods and services to develop one of the world's largest<br>\ncopper and gold deposits in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>The Ex-Im Bank's limited recourse project financing will<br>\nleverage $1 billion of U.S. procurement, directly supporting over<br>\n14,000 U.S. jobs and thousands more through subsuppliers, the<br>\nBank said.<\/p>\n<p>Companies supplying the Batu-Hijau Copper-Gold Project include<br>\nNewmont Gold Co and Fluor Daniel Inc, the principle operating<br>\nunit of Fluor Corp.<\/p>\n<p>\"Without Ex-Im Bank support, much of this project would have<br>\nbeen lost to foreign competitors,\" said William Trammell, Manager<br>\nof Project Financing, Fluor Daniel.<\/p>\n<p>The Batu-Hijau project, located in a remote and sparsely<br>\npopulated area of Indonesia, involves construction of port<br>\nfacilities, a power plant, roads, telecommunications facilities,<br>\nand a mine which includes a concentrator, a crushing station and<br>\nconveyor systems.<\/p>\n<p>The sponsors of the project are Newmont and Sumitomo Corp.<\/p>",
