The Indonesian Government has been urged to cancel plans to deploy\nthousands of Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) personnel on a peacekeeping\nmission as part of the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) to Gaza,\nPalestine. This follows the current warfare situation between Zionist\nIsrael and the United States against the Islamic Republic of Iran.<\/p>\n
Former Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister Dino Patti Djalal stated\nthat an open war between Israel, the US, and Iran is believed to pose\nserious threats to the Middle East region and globally. The security\nthreats in the region will also affect the situation in Palestine,\nparticularly Gaza, which remains under a ceasefire with the Hamas\nfighting faction.<\/p>\n
\u201cI recommend that President Prabowo write a letter to President\nDonald Trump notifying him that Indonesia will suspend the deployment of\npeacekeeping forces for the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) in\nGaza, whilst reassessing the serious situation currently developing in\nthe Middle East,\u201d said Dino on Sunday (1 March 2026).<\/p>\n
According to Dino, recent combined US-Zionist military strikes on\nTehran have further exposed serious and prolonged security complications\nin the Middle East and will impact any peace scenario being campaigned\nin Gaza, Palestine. US President Donald Trump chairs the Board of Peace\n(BoP), and Zionist Israel is one of the members of the Peace Council\nestablished to pursue peace in Gaza. The BoP established the ISF, a\nmilitary coalition to be deployed to Gaza on that peacekeeping\nmission.<\/p>\n
Besides heading the BoP, the US is also the principal commander of\nthe ISF to be deployed to Gaza. Indonesia is a nation willing to join\nthe BoP as a member and has been appointed as deputy commander of the\nISF. President Prabowo pledged to deploy 8,000 TNI personnel to join\n20,000 ISF troops, comprising forces from Morocco, Albania, Kazakhstan,\nand Kosovo, to be deployed to Gaza as an ad hoc peacekeeping force\noutside United Nations (UN) control.<\/p>\n
According to Dino, the US attack on Iran as head of the BoP and ISF\ncommander, together with Israel as a BoP member, will place\ninternational forces in Gaza, including the TNI, in a dangerous \u201ctrap\u201d.\nGiven that Hamas and fighting factions in Gaza, Palestine, have close\nties with Iran.<\/p>\n
\u201cHamas and other armed groups in Palestine have special ties with\nIran. And that (the US-Zionist strike on Iran) will definitely have an\nimpact (on Gaza). Especially since Indonesia\u2019s peacekeeping forces (TNI)\nwill essentially be under American command, and under the control of\nDonald Trump as head of the Board of Peace,\u201d said Dino.<\/p>\n
Through President Prabowo\u2019s letter suspending the TNI deployment to\nGaza, Dino said, it would simultaneously demonstrate Indonesia\u2019s stance\non the current Middle East situation. Dino also suggested that President\nPrabowo should not adopt a naive position regarding US demands.<\/p>\n
