        "content": "<p>In Jakarta, on Saturday, March 7, international relations analyst\nTeuku Rezasyah of Padjadjaran University (Unpad) said the United States\nshould be urged to stop the conflict between the United States\u2013Israel\nand Iran. Rezasyah told ANTARA in Jakarta that attempts to bring Iran\nback to the negotiating table with the U.S. would be difficult, because\nWashington has been accused of violating the Tehran agreement and\nundermining consensus efforts by bombing Iran. He made the statement\nwhile commenting on plans by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who\ncould potentially visit Iran with Pakistan\u2019s Prime Minister to defuse\ntensions in the region. \u201cIt would be beneficial for the Republic of\nIndonesia and Pakistan to promptly design a meeting of foreign ministers\nof the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Non-Aligned\nMovement (NAM), and the Arab League to discuss the crisis instigated by\nthe United States and Israel, which risks triggering World War III,\u201d he\nsaid. According to Rezasyah, mediation of the U.S.\u2013Iran conflict would\nonly be considered successful if President Prabowo can dialogue with\nU.S. President Donald Trump on a possible resolution to the conflict.\nHowever, he assessed that would be difficult because Trump is believed\nto desire a change of government in Tehran from the Islamic Republic to\na secular administration. On 28 February, the U.S. and Israel conducted\na joint strike on Iran that killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali\nKhamenei. Iran then retaliated by launching missiles at Israel and U.S.\nmilitary bases in the Middle East. On the same day, Indonesia\u2019s Ministry\nof Foreign Affairs urged all parties to exercise restraint and\nprioritise dialogue and diplomacy. Jimly Asshiddiqie, chairman of the\nICMI Advisory Council of Indonesian Muslim Scholars (ICMI), had\npreviously said President Prabowo planned to go directly to Iran. He\nsaid this after attending a meeting between ulama, clerics, and Muslim\nscholars with President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace on Thursday\nnight. In the meeting, President Prabowo disclosed his plan to help\ndefuse the escalation in the Middle East together with Pakistan\u2019s Prime\nMinister Shehbaz Sharif. According to Jimly, Prabowo\u2019s intention to\ndefuse the escalation was welcomed by the Pakistani prime minister.<\/p>",
