        "content": "<p>The total number of victims from the accident involving the KRL and\nArgo Bromo Anggrek at East Bekasi Station in West Java on Monday night\n(27\/4\/2026) was 106 passengers, comprising 15 deaths and 91\ninjuries.<\/p>\n<p>Of the injured victims, 38 have been allowed to go home, while the\nrest remain under hospital care.<\/p>\n<p>The government, through Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi, stated\nthat handling the victims is the current top priority.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are ensuring that all victims receive optimal treatment. For KRL\noperations, reopening will be carried out only after all safety aspects\nare confirmed met, including clearance results from the KNKT,\u201d said Dudy\nin an official statement on Wednesday (29\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Currently, trials of facilities, signalling, and readiness at East\nBekasi Station are underway.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe continuously express our apologies to all the public, especially\nthe victims\u2019 families and affected customers,\u201d said Boby.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the evacuation process was carried out gradually and\ncautiously, lasting around 10 hours to ensure all passengers were\nproperly handled.<\/p>\n<p>In the recovery process, the downstream line from Bekasi to Tambun\nhas been open since Tuesday (27\/4\/2026) at 01:30 WIB.<\/p>\n<p>The upstream line has also been declared safe for passage with a\nspeed restriction of 30 kilometres per hour, in accordance with safety\nrecommendations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKAI, along with regulators and related parties, continues to conduct\ncomprehensive evaluations, both internal and external, and fully\nsupports the KNKT\u2019s investigation process,\u201d said Bobby.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, KAI and the Ministry of Transportation reaffirmed their\ncommitment to improving safety, including regulating level crossings and\nfulfilling field safety standards.<\/p>\n<p>KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba stated that\nKAI ensures all affected customers continue to receive the necessary\nservices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKAI is committed to providing services to all customers, including a\n100 percent refund process for cancelled trips.
