Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) recorded
positive growth for five consecutive quarters. The company said it had
made solid progress in building a more competitive business with
stronger structural foundations.

Third-quarter sales reached Rp8.9 trillion, up 7.4% from the same
period last year, driven by underlying volume growth of 6.4%. Sales for
the first nine months of 2026 rose 7.2% to Rp25.8 trillion.

Net profit from continuing operations grew 10.6%, outpacing sales
growth despite ongoing inflationary pressures. Performance was supported
by broad-based growth across business units and sales channels, improved
competitiveness, stronger execution and disciplined investment in the
company’s strategic priorities.

UNVR President Director Benjie Yap said the company’s third-quarter
performance showed continued progress in building a stronger
business.

“We recorded volume growth for five consecutive quarters, with profit
growth exceeding sales growth despite ongoing inflationary pressures.
Growth was broad-based across our portfolio and reflects improved
competitiveness, stronger execution and the strengthening of our
brands,” he said in an official statement on Thursday (22 October
2026).

Yap said that, beyond this quarter’s results, UNVR was continuing to
strengthen the foundations for long-term growth by developing more
‘SASSY’ brands, moving towards a more premium portfolio and expanding
its digital business.

“Supported by stronger execution, structural cost transformation and
a high-performance culture, these efforts are not only improving the
quality of our growth but also strengthening the company’s ability to
sustain it,” Benjie added.

Building a stronger business

After successfully driving business growth in 2025, Unilever
Indonesia is now focused on improving the quality, resilience and
sustainability of that growth while building a business that leads in
its markets. Sales growth for the year to date has risen to 7.2%,
compared with 4.3% in 2025, reflecting progress beyond the recovery
phase and into the next stage of the company’s transformation.

The company is pursuing a strategy centred on three main
priorities:

More ‘SASSY’ brands

The company is continuing to strengthen its brands through the
S.A.S.S.Y. framework, combining Science, Aesthetics, Sensorial
Experiences, Consumer Advocacy (‘Said by Others’) and Youthful
Relevance. Brands such as Sunsilk and Rinso demonstrate how product
excellence, brand appeal and stronger cultural relevance can improve
competitiveness and support sustainable growth.

A more premium portfolio

The premium segment now accounts for about 32% of the total market
and is growing almost twice as fast as the mainstream segment. More than
70% of the company’s premium business is outperforming in its markets,
making premiumisation a key driver of higher-quality and more resilient
growth.

A bigger digital business

Digital business is one of the fastest-growing drivers in the
fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) category. The company is building new
demand-generation capabilities through social media-focused marketing,
livestreaming and affiliate partnerships to accelerate growth and
strengthen consumer relationships across digital channels.

These efforts are supported by stronger field execution, structural
productivity improvements and a high-performance culture across the
organisation.

Benjie said that during the year the company had expanded direct
distribution, broadened its portfolio in the market and continued to
improve customer service and in-store execution. Ongoing transformation
in procurement, manufacturing and the operating model had also improved
productivity, strengthened competitiveness and created more room for
investment to support long-term growth.

Looking ahead, Benjie said UNVR would remain focused on volume-driven
growth, with measured margin improvement in 2026. Commodity inflationary
pressures linked to the Middle East are expected to continue into
2027.

“We will continue to respond through a combination of appropriate
pricing adjustments, efficiency and disciplined investment. Our
priorities are to maintain competitiveness, ensure products remain
affordable for consumers and support healthy long-term business growth,”
he said.

The company said it was optimistic about the progress made so far.
UNVR now has stronger brands, capabilities and business foundations than
it did a year ago. Unilever will continue to focus on strengthening its
portfolio, improving competitiveness and creating sustainable long-term
value for shareholders.

“As part of our efforts to strengthen the business, we will provide
further information about our Foods business before the end of the
year,” Benjie concluded.
",
