        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted a sting\noperation (OTT), apprehending members of the rectorate leadership of\nJenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed).<\/p>\n<p>KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto confirmed that Unsoed Rector Prof Akhmad\nSodiq was among those arrested in the covert operation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Rector was also included,\u201d said Setyo, as quoted from Antara on\nFriday (21\/8).<\/p>\n<p>Setyo also confirmed the arrests of Vice-Rector I for Academic\nAffairs Prof Noor Farid and Vice-Rector III for Student Affairs and\nAlumni Prof Norman Arie Prayogo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDetails of the parties brought to Jakarta, I have not yet updated,\u201d\nSetyo added.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), the\nanti-corruption agency has 1 x 24 hours to determine the legal status of\nthe detained parties.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, KPK investigators borrowed an examination room in the\nbuilding of the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit in Central\nJava on Thursday (20\/8). The team examined six people for approximately\n11 hours from midday until evening.<\/p>\n<p>Those examined were Prof Norman Arie Prayogo, Prof Noor Farid, and\nHead of the Academic and Student Affairs Division of Unsoed Eko Sumanto\n(a civil servant). Three other individuals came from outside the\nuniversity, namely Adhi Wiharto, Dian Mulia Wardhana alias Kating, and\nMulyono alias Nono.<\/p>\n<p>According to Media Indonesia\u2019s observations, the KPK entourage left\nthe Banyumas Police headquarters at around 22.45 WIB carrying several\nbags containing documents. Five people, including Norman Arie Prayoga\nand Eko Sumanto as well as three private parties, were immediately\ndispatched to Jakarta in a black car.<\/p>\n<p>As he was escorted by officers towards the vehicle, Norman briefly\ngave a statement to the media.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe questions will be continued in Jakarta,\u201d said Norman as he\nhurried into the car.<\/p>\n<p>KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto confirmed the sting operation at Unsoed\nwas related to alleged bribery in the independent medical school\nadmissions pathway. Two vice-rectors and other individuals are being\ninvestigated.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, he said the KPK was requesting statements from a number\nof parties to follow up on public complaint reports.<\/p>\n<p>The KPK urged the public to be wary of extortion and fraud schemes\ndisguised as case management that misuse the institution\u2019s name.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that his agency had repeatedly warned the executive ranks\nto be careful in running the government.<\/p>\n<p>Evidence seized by KPK investigators was spread across several\nlocations.<\/p>",
