        "content": "<p>Unsafe pedestrian overpass<\/p>\n<p>From Pelita<\/p>\n<p>A couple of days ago an acquaintance of mine told me of how,<br>\nwhile waiting at the Baturaja bus shelter in front of the Kartika<br>\nPlaza Hotel in Central Jakarta, he witnessed a gang of people<br>\ncrowding a foreigner. Moments later the man discovered that his<br>\nwallet was gone. Although he pointed his finger at the ruffians<br>\nit was too late to do anything.<\/p>\n<p>A number of acquaintances have told me that the Baturaja and<br>\nthe nearby Dukuh Atas bus shelters are indeed very unsafe and<br>\nthis includes the pedestrian overpass in the vicinity. Hold-ups,<br>\npick-pocketing and robberies frequently occur in that area.<\/p>\n<p>My advice to everyone, who have to be at those shelters or use<br>\nthe overpass, is to be especially watchful since the hoodlums<br>\nthere usually operate in groups of three of four men.
