        "content": "<p>Ambon (ANTARA) - Universitas Pattimura (Unpatti) in Ambon, Maluku,\ntogether with the Embassy of the Netherlands in Indonesia, is focusing\non strengthening cooperation in the student exchange programme as part\nof ongoing international academic collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe welcome this visit as a strategic opportunity to strengthen\ncooperation in the fields of academics, research, as well as student and\nlecturer exchanges between Maluku and the Netherlands,\u201d said Unpatti\nRector Prof Freddy Leiwakabessy in Ambon on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the student exchange programme currently being\ndesigned will open opportunities for Unpatti students to pursue\nshort-term studies at various universities in the Netherlands, while\nalso receiving Dutch students to learn about the cultural richness,\nmaritime aspects, and resource potentials in Maluku.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Rector, the programme scheme covers exchanges of one\nsemester to one academic year, credit recognition, and cross-country\nstudent research collaboration focused on maritime, fisheries,\neducation, and island development fields.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to student exchanges, the cooperation is also directed\ntowards lecturer exchanges, guest lectures, and joint research\ndevelopment between Unpatti and educational institutions in the\nNetherlands.<\/p>\n<p>He added that his side enthusiastically welcomes the plan for a guest\nlecture by the Dutch Ambassador themed \u201cA Conversation with the\nAmbassador: Connecting the Dots between Maluku and the Netherlands\u201d as\npart of strengthening students\u2019 global insights.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia, Marc Gerritsen, stated\nthat through the established cooperation, it is hoped to strengthen\nbilateral relations, particularly in higher education, and to introduce\nstudy opportunities and collaborations in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis cooperation going forward will focus on student exchanges and\nstrengthening academic networks, so that students from both countries\ncan learn from each other and understand global perspectives,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the student exchange programme will be supported by\nvarious schemes, including scholarships, inter-university cooperation,\nand international mobility programmes that enable students to gain\ncross-cultural learning experiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe hope that students in Ambon can take advantage of this\nopportunity to broaden their horizons and build international networks,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>",
