        "content": "<p>Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM) has stated it is fully handing over\nthe case of an alleged domestic violence incident involving one of its\nlecturers to the authorities. The case will be processed according to\nthe applicable law.<\/p>\n<p>UNM spokesperson Burhanuddin in Makassar said he was not yet aware of\nthe details of the alleged domestic violence case involving the\nlecturer, but the university supports a thorough investigation. \u201cYes, we\nleave it to the authorities if the family has reported it to the\npolice,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the threat of sanctions against the perpetrator, UNM is\nchoosing to wait and see how the situation develops, including awaiting\nlegal certainty.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the victim\u2019s mother, identified as M, stated that a\nreport regarding her child\u2019s domestic violence case was filed with the\nWest Sumatra Regional Police on 19 January 2026, as the victim is\ncurrently in Padang with her parents.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged domestic violence was experienced by the victim while the\ncouple resided in the Patemon area of Semarang City, Central Java, from\nmid-2024 to mid-2025. At that time, the reported individual was also a\nlecturer at a state university.<\/p>\n<p>According to the victim\u2019s mother, the domestic violence continued to\noccur frequently while they were in Makassar until the end of 2025.\nEventually, on 1 January 2026, the victim fled her husband\u2019s home to\nPadang because she could no longer endure the abuse.<\/p>\n<p>The victim\u2019s parents hope the case will be resolved quickly and that\nthe suspect receives a fitting punishment. Meanwhile, the victim is\nstill traumatised and experiencing pain in several parts of her body as\na result of the violence committed by her husband.<\/p>",
