University probes students' conduct<\/p>\n
SEMARANG: The administrators of state-run Diponegoro
\nUniversity said the names of two students studying there match
\nnames on a list of people whom the authorities said took part in
\nrecent anti-government demonstrations in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Assistant Rector Sarjadi said the authorities had asked the
\nuniversity to check its enrollment files against a list of five
\nnames of people who took part in this month's protests in the
\ncapital denouncing the integration of East Timor with Indonesia.<\/p>\n
Of the five, one was an East Timorese and the others were
\nstudents from Central Java, he said.<\/p>\n
"We cannot know for certain that these two did take part in
\nthe demonstrations. Their names simply matched those given to us
\nby the authorities," Sarjadi said. (emb)<\/p>",
