UNICEF-WFP cooperation<\/p>\n
The Wood Food Program (WFP) and UNICEF would cooperate in ongoing
\nattempts to address the problems of malnutrition in Indonesia,
\nthe agencies said Friday.<\/p>\n
The two agencies have signed a memorandum of understanding to
\nwork together in 41 districts and to provide specific support to
\nthe integrated health service posts (Posyandu), the statement
\nmade available to The Jakarta Post on Friday said.<\/p>\n
\"The joint cooperation will capitalize on the expertise of the
\nWFP in procurement of complementary foods, particularly Delvita,
\nand extensive UNICEF experience with Posyandu and primary health
\ncare systems in rural areas,\" they said.<\/p>\n
\"Through education the mothers will have the knowledge and
\nability to provide adequate nutrition for their children,\" they
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The understanding also highlighted several specific areas of
\npartnership, including: the use and production of fortified
\nfoods; refugee joint assessment; policy, program and advocacy
\ndevelopment; sharing of information; capacity building;
