        "content": "<p>Hasanuddin University (Unhas) has secured distribution permits from\nthe Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) for 15 innovative products\ndeveloped from research by its lecturers. Rector of Unhas Prof Dr Ir\nJamaluddin Jompa stated in Makassar on Sunday that this achievement\nrepresents an important step in accelerating the downstreaming of\nresearch so it can be produced, marketed, and utilised by the public. He\nnoted that the success is a significant milestone, as distribution\npermits have been one of the main obstacles preventing research results\nfrom entering the market. This year, Unhas is targeting around 200\nadditional innovative products to obtain BPOM distribution permits.\nAccording to Jamaluddin, the success of research is not only measured by\nscientific publications or patents, but also by tangible benefits for\nsociety through products that are safe, legal, and economically\nvaluable. Head of the Makassar Centre for Food and Drug Control Yosef\nDwi Irwan Prakasa Setiawan stressed that collaboration between\nuniversities, government, and the business sector is necessary so that\nresearch results do not remain confined to the laboratory, but instead\nare able to create business opportunities and employment. Meanwhile,\nHead of BPOM RI Prof dr Taruna Ikrar said BPOM acts not only as a\nregulator, but also as a strategic partner in strengthening the national\ninnovation ecosystem, enabling research-based products to penetrate\nnational and even global markets. The 15 products that received\ndistribution permits include bread, Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), coconut\noil, liquid palm sugar, cubed palm sugar, powdered palm sugar, sarabba,\nvarious processed seaweed products, and a Ginger Creamy beverage\ndeveloped by a number of Unhas researchers. The distribution permit\ncertificates were handed over during the Acceleration of Academia,\nBusiness, Government (ABG) Collaboration event in Makassar, as part of\nefforts to strengthen synergy in accelerating the downstreaming of\nresearch results.<\/p>",
